Computer requirements
BookManager runs smoothly on any PC. The faster the machine, the faster BookManager will perform. BookManager is an application that is easily installed and runs on most versions of Windows including: Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP.
BookManager is network ready. The networking capability that comes with Windows is most widely used among stores needing up to five computers. Most larger installations use a specialised Windows server for increased stability and performance. If you are unsure about the hardware you have and it's compatibility with the BookManager software, please contact us.
Installation & Support
BookManager is designed to be easily installed by you. Purchase your computer equipment locally and use a competent dealer in your area to set up networking. Our manuals, telephone/email and remote support guide you through installing the software to give you a sensible approach in making the transition from your present system. Using the Internet and remote desktop software, our sales/support staff can transfer your system, fully customised, in a matter of minutes.
All of our support staff have bookselling experience, and will assist you in any way to help you understand any concept involved in BookManager. You will likely need a little help to get started, and after that the occasional phone call to fully understand some of the more advanced components or concepts. During regular hours you will always be able to speak with someone knowledgeable. After hours, an emergency number is available to handle critical situations.
Converting from other systems
We have had considerable experience working with other programs and extracting data from them. Most often, we are able to do this for you at no charge. After reviewing a copy of your data files, we will advise you on the amount of data that would be transferable to BookManager. If you need starter title and supplier files, we have them for both General and Christian bookstores.

Program updates
BookManager has been in constant development for over 29 years. Our customers keep providing us with suggestions and we continually work to expand BookManager's abilities and improve the present system. Each year we strive to release many updates with the changes our users need and want. As each new idea becomes a reality, we upgrade the program and then make it available to every user that has current support. Using an internal update option in BookManager, your in-store copy of BookManager will download a new version of the program. Updates are easy to get and require little, if any, assistance from the BookManager staff.
Recent changes
There have been many changes in regards to the Internet and how bookstores are accessing information from different sources. Stores can have access to their own book researching tool that is used right from their own inventory screen called TitleLink. Christian bookstores also have their very own book researching tool called CBTitles. PubStock is the price and availability service that gives stock information from over 120 different suppliers. With the creation of BookManager's WebStore service, you now can have your own website for your customers to view stock, and order those items online. To speak to one of the BookManager staff please call (250) 763-4415 or email any questions to mail@bookmanager.com.
